| What We Believe |
|
God – is the ruler and creator of all things. God is perfect in all of His attributes and infinite in His being. He reveals Himself to us in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all distinct persons, but without any division in essence, nature, or being. Man – is the special creation of God, made in His own image. In the beginning God created mankind with freedom of choice and that choice was used to freely sin against God. Because of that sin, and personal sins, all mankind finds itself lost in their sin and under condemnation. Only through the free gift of eternal life by His grace can mankind’s relationship to God be restored. Separated from God, man’s greatest need is to be reconciled with his Creator. Salvation – is the saving of the soul of man from eternal damnation. Because each of us has broken God’s perfect law (the Ten Commandments), each of us will be judged as a lawbreaker before God. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for man’s sin on the cross. Man cannot add to or help in his salvation, we can only receive it and live a life of gratitude. The Bible – is without error and is infallible; its books are written by men, but divinely inspired by the Spirit of God. He has chosen to reveal His redemptive plan, His purpose, His will, and even His character to us in the scriptures. It is the highest authority of truth.
